Ledger & Signal

Tech and finance for Malaysia — financial literacy without the product pitch, and technology coverage that says whether it matters.

Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Ledger & Signal. By reading the site, creating an account, or buying a ticket, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

Who we are

Ledger & Signal is a publisher and event organiser operating in Malaysia. These terms are governed by Malaysian law, and the courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Content and how you may use it

Articles, analysis and data published here are our copyright. You may read, quote briefly with attribution, and link to them freely. You may not republish articles in full, systematically scrape the site, or resell our content without written permission.

Where we link to or summarise reporting by others, the underlying work remains theirs. We link rather than reproduce, on purpose.

Nothing here is financial advice

We write about finance and technology for a general audience. Nothing on this site is personal financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. We do not know your circumstances. Before acting on anything you read here, consider getting advice from someone licensed to give it.

We take accuracy seriously and correct errors when we find them, but we do not warrant that everything is complete or current, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on it.

Tickets

How a purchase works

Selecting tickets places a temporary hold on them — currently 15 minutes — during which the seats are reserved for you. The hold is not a purchase. If payment is not completed and verified before it expires, the seats return to sale.

When you actually get your ticket

Tickets are issued after we verify your payment, not when you submit it. Where payment is by DuitNow transfer, a person checks your transfer against our bank records. This usually takes a few hours and may take longer outside business hours.

You will receive your ticket by email once verification completes. Until then your order page shows its current status. If we cannot verify your transfer, we will cancel the order, release the seats, and tell you why — and if money did leave your account, we will refund it.

Your ticket

Each ticket carries a unique code. Anyone presenting a valid, unused code will be admitted, so treat your ticket as you would cash. A code can only be used once. We may refuse entry to a ticket that has already been checked in, has been refunded, or belongs to a cancelled order.

Refunds and cancellations

Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or other Malaysian law.

Accounts

Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service, defraud us or others, or break the law.

Behaviour at events

We want events that people are glad they attended. We may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone behaving in a way that harasses or endangers others, without a refund. Venues may have their own rules, which also apply.

Availability

We aim to keep the site up, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or withdraw features. Where a change materially affects something you have already paid for, we will honour what you bought or refund it.

Liability

To the extent Malaysian law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you buy a ticket is the one that applies to that purchase — we will not change the deal after you have paid for it.
